Fund manager Geoff Wilson is set to do it again.

Only 24-hours after opening the books for his new listed fund, WAM Microcap, the firm has passed the minimum fundraising amount.

That means WAM Microcap will be joining the ASX boards on June 28, as anticipated.

It’s understood WAM Microcap received more than $16.5 million in bids on day one of its raising.

Wilson’s Wilson Asset Management is seeking to raise up to $154 million for the new fund via the sale of up to 140 million new shares at $1.10 each.

No doubt the team will consider whether to increase that amount closer to the closing date.

Taylor Collison and Morgans are overseeing the offer as joint lead managers, while 80 per cent of the deal has been set aside for shareholders of WAM’s existing funds.
